The Foundation
Herbalism is a practice rooted in the understanding that all things in nature are interconnected, and it embraces the belief that the Earth's plants hold profound healing powers for both body and spirit. Herbs work within the body not just through their biochemical properties, which can nourish, soothe, and strengthen, but also through their metaphysical resonance, which aligns with the energetic vibrations of our being. When we use herbs, we tap into an ancient wisdom, engaging with the subtle energy fields that flow through every living thing. This holistic approach acknowledges that the potency of herbs lies not only in their active ingredients but also in their ability to harmonize with the body's natural rhythms, promoting balance and wellness on multiple levels.
For the past 25 years, I have dedicated myself to the practice of herbalism, deepening my understanding of plants and their healing properties for body, mind, and spirit. My journey began in Ojai, California, in 1999, where I had the privilege of studying under a respected herbal healer. This apprenticeship experience allowed me to immerse myself in traditional herbal practices, learning to harness the power of local flora and integrating them into holistic healing methods. At the same time, I was attending a Buddhist massage school where I learned energy work, aromatherapy, and healing on physical, energetic, and spiritual levels.
My passion for natural remedies led me to pursue advanced studies in aromatherapy, culminating in a master class in Saul, France, under the guidance of Dr. Daniel Penouel in 2005. This training expanded my knowledge of essential oils and their therapeutic applications, providing me with valuable insights into their holistic benefits. Combining this expertise with my roots in herbal medicine has enriched my practice, enabling me to offer a comprehensive approach to well-being that honors the wisdom of nature. Through these experiences, I continue to cultivate a deep respect for the intricate relationship between plants and humans.
